Monica Mortellaro is technical advisor and self-employed. She is specialized agronomist in architecture of the
landscape. For twenty years she has been operating in the territory of the Basin of the Mediterranean. Head
of Communications for Sicily, as part of the National Council of the Order of Doctors Agronomists and Forestry
(2009). In 2008 the project AR.A ' comes true, it is the result of the common effort and synergy through which
works for the conservation, restoration and increase the value of territory. Operates in the totally of landscape
and the environment respect, through applications in various areas. Taking to heart the historical references
relating to the relationship among the man and the use of plants, she has realized characteristic and unique
museums: the Museum of the Almond Tree (Syracuse 2009), the Museum of forgotten fruits (Noto 2005-2008).
Exploitation and recovery of the cultural and landscape typologies, creating a net of naturalistic ways (Noto
2008). She has operated to support and guardianship of the forest activities constituting The forest of memory
(Buscemi 2005-2007), through the recovery of the function of natural systems, the maintenance of traditional
agro-forestry land, the prevention of fires, prevention and reduction of the phenomena of desertification
(Wood of Cassaro) for the restoration of wooded areas in the agriculture-forestry, arising from the plan of maintenance
of the mountain. Besides she has realized the Forest Agricultural Study for the cities of: Cassaro (1995),
Palazzolo Acreide (2001), and Noto (2005). In 2004 appointed a position consulting for urban green areas of the
city of Siracusa (2004). Professor “Master of Planning of the landscape”, for the University of the Studies in
Milan. The design and direction of the work of the private gardens of the Casino of Monte Carlo and some private
gardens of prestigious homes of the Principality of Monaco (1999), and in the Sicily and Tuscany interland
(1993-2009).
