‘AOW’ and other dreams<br />

In government vernacular, the acronym<br />

‘AOW’ simply means All Other Weapons. That is, it<br />

is a catchall phrase to cover legislative asses when<br />

dealing with gun laws. Simply put, if it cannot be<br />

defined, it belongs within this category. Unlike<br />

machine guns, silencers, and short-barreled<br />

weapons, however, the federal transfer fee is only<br />

five bucks – hardly worth writing out a check.<br />

What falls under AOW, fortunately, is truly<br />

exciting for independent counterterrorist<br />

operations as well as personal protection. Items<br />

such as the Enigma Briefcase Gun which features a<br />

six-shot .22 in the handle. Or variants of the<br />

Remington 870 shotgun that feature 14” barrels or<br />

shorter and are not sold to the public by the<br />

manufacturer but often appear at dealers.<br />

Then there are the .380 mini flashlight and<br />

.410 shotgun ‘Maglite’ guns, both featuring<br />

working flashlights – but ones that can save your<br />

life should the need arise! With just a bit of surfing<br />

the Web, one can find an astonishing amount of<br />

firearms, military gear, and even vehicles that<br />

could assist you in your mission.<br />

Companies such as World Wide Armor<br />

(www.worldwidearmor.com) offer armored<br />

versions of popular automobiles and sport utility<br />

vehicles for costs that, while a bit high for normal<br />

folk, aren’t much more drastic than your off-thelot<br />

luxury vehicle. Their Chevrolet Suburban can<br />

be shielded against even rockets, though<br />
