CONDITIONING YOURSELF FOR<br />

THE FIGHT OF YOUR LIFE<br />

Now that you’ve decided to take a stand<br />

against the terrorists hell-bent on your<br />

destruction, perhaps it behooves you to take stock<br />

of your physical and mental condition. Chances<br />

are, you’re in far worse shape than you care to be<br />

in. All is not lost, however; the tools that you need<br />

to recover the fitness of your youth are all<br />

around you. 21 First, however, we need to work on<br />

your mental attitude.<br />

A Warrior’s Mind<br />

When confronted with danger, a person has<br />

but four distinct options available: 22<br />

1. Fight: A person can stand their<br />

ground and fight;<br />

2. Posture: A person can stand their<br />

ground, but instead of fighting will<br />

‘flair up’ and present a more<br />

threatening image to their<br />

adversaries;<br />

3. Flight: A person can give ground and<br />

make a hasty retreat back to safety;<br />

4. Submit: A person can simply give up<br />

and surrender; accepting whatever
