GODLEWSKI/INERT “The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies – civilian and military – is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it…” Sheikh Usamah Bin-Muhammed Bin-Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri, February 23, 1998. These words were not specifically uttered by the ummah – the Islamic community worldwide. Nor were they uttered by any specific national leader commanding a military of uniformed and civilized personnel. No, these words – which specifically include the phrases “American” and “civilian” – were published, in print, by the two men who planned and orchestrated the attacks on September 11 th , 2001. They called for war in 1998 and they ushered it in on that fateful day during 2001. Add to these atrocities the attack on our embassy in Tehran in 1979, the attack on the Marine Barracks in 1983, the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993, the attack on the Khobar Towers in 1996, and the attack upon the U.S.S. Cole in 2000, to just name a few, and you have a solid indictment against Islamic radicals. And that’s just the beginning…
