Olympiapark
Zu den ganz besonderen Sehenswürdigkeiten gehört
der Münchner Olympiapark. Seine Entstehung geht
zurück auf die Austragung der XX. Olympischen Sommerspiele
im Jahr 1972.
Der geniale, weltweit einzigartige Entwurf des berühmten
Olympiadaches stammt vom Stuttgarter Architekturbüro
Behnisch & Partner.
Neben den olympischen Anlagen wird der Park vom
Olympiaberg beherrscht, einem Hügel, der nach dem
Krieg durch das Aufschütten des Trümmerschuttes der
stark zerstörten Stadt entstand und heute als Aussichts-
und Skiabfahrtshügel dient.
Der Olympiapark besteht insgesamt aus dem Olympiagelände
mit den Sportstätten, dem Olympischen Dorf,
der Olympia-Pressestadt (heute Wohngebiet) und dem
Park mit Olympiasee und Olympiaberg.
The Olympic Park
One of Munich’s very special sights is its Olympic
Park. It was built for the 1972 Summer Olympics.
The ingenious and unique design of the stadium roof
was conceived by the Stuttgart architectural office
Behnisch & Partner.
The Olympic Hill overlooks the Olympic facilities. It
was formed by piling up the wreckage that was created
by the heavily damaged city during the war, and
today it is a lookout point and even a venue for World
Cup slalom skiing events.
The main components of the Olympic Park are the
Olympic facility itself, with the sporting stadia, the
Olympic Village, the Olympic Press City (today a residential
district) and the Park itself, with its Olympic
Lake and Hill.
