Klischees sind zwar keine wissenschaftlich anerkannten
Parameter, aber sie helfen uns dadurch,
dass sie Sachverhalte oft völlig überzeichnen,
uns in unserer eigenen Umwelt besser zu orientieren.
Das gilt auch und vor allem für die Gastronomie.
Denn fragt man im Ausland nach typisch deutschen
Speisen, begegnen uns immer wieder die gleichen Klischees:
Schweinsbraten, Weißwurst, Brezn und Sauerkraut.
Und bei den Getränken ist Bier ganz sicher
das Nationalgetränk der Deutschen.
Alle diese Klischees kommen nicht ganz zufällig aus
Bayern. Und München, die Weltstadt mit Herz, ist ein
Spiegelbild bayerischer Gastronomie und Lebensfreude.
Denn der Münchner weiß, wie es sich am besten
lebt, und lässt, großzügig wie er ist, auch Zuag‘roaste
und Touristen gerne an diesem schönen Leben teilhaben.
Jede Speise steht für eine Vielzahl von Menschen,
die mit Liebe kochen und servieren, denen das Wohl
ihrer Gäste ganz nah am Herzen liegt. Sie verkörpern,
alle miteinander, die einzigartige Gastfreundlichkeit
Münchens.
Denn so is(s)t München: Das ist mehr als nur Gastwirtschaft,
das ist Freundschaft! München steht für
Gemütlichkeit, Herzlichkeit, Brauchtum und Heimatliebe,
das Miteinander über scheinbare soziale Grenzen
hinweg. Und für die Menschlichkeit am Gast, die
Gastfreundschaft.
Clichés might not be an officially recognised parameter,
but by often exaggerating the facts, they
often help us find orientation in our environment.
And this is most true of all for bars and restaurants.
Because if you ask about typical German foods when
in another country, you will often be confronted with
the same clichés: roast pork, white sausage, pretzels
and sauerkraut. And when it comes to beverages –
well everyone knows that beer is the national drink of
the Germans.
It is no coincidence that all of these clichés come from
Bavaria. And Munich, the big city with the big heart,
is a reflection of Bavarian gastronomy and the joy of
life.Because every Münchner knows how to live life to
the fullest, and generous as they are, they are happy
to let visitors of all kinds be a part of it. Each specialty
stands for numerous people who love to cook and
serve, who really care about their guests’ wellbeing. All
of them together represent the hospitality of Munich.
That’s just the way Munich is. It is more than just being
nice to guests; it’s friendship! Munich stands for conviviality,
heartiness, customs and love of your home
town, being together across apparent social borders,
and for hospitality.
In Munich, food isn’t just nourishment, it is culture. A
time to make friends – that wasn’t only the motto of
the FIFA World Cup 2006 – it epitomises the charm
