Beneficiaries must already be the recipient of the Disability Grant, the<br />

Benefit delivery mechanism<br />

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), using a privatised<br />

payment contractor, pays the grant into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts,<br />

which can be withdrawn at designated pay points, contracted merchant<br />

stores or automatic teller machines (ATMs).<br />

If beneficiaries are unable to collect the benefit themselves,<br />

a proxy may be appointed at the SASSA office. 2<br />
