GUARDING THE MOUTH & SOUL<br />
“He who guards his mouth and his tongue, guards his soul from troubles.”<br />
(Prov 21: 23)<br />
Unfortunately this is a truth I often remember only in hindsight.<br />
I remember it after entering a useless debate, or sharing useless<br />
information, or being inconsiderate of the person with whom, or at<br />
whom, I was speaking. And yet, as discouraging as that may be, I can build<br />
on such experiences, so that today I have the foresight of this wisdom<br />
from Proverbs, rather than just remember it in hindsight.<br />
Today let me take a small step back, and listen a bit more, in any<br />
conversation I might have. Let me think twice before sharing information,<br />
be it online or face-to-face, asking myself, Is it worth it? Let the word of<br />
God help me to help myself in “guarding my soul from troubles.”<br />
