JUNE 3
THE GOOD AND THE BAD
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for
good…” (Rom 8:28)
One of the best parts of having God in my life, and the revelation of His
Word, is that I know I am always on a journey. No matter what setbacks
or detours I experience, no matter how many times I fall, I see the light
on the mountaintop. It reaches and illuminates the winding path I am on.
There is eternal meaning, in light of God’s Word, to every little good or
bad thing in my life, even if I tend to lose sight of this fact from time to
time. God’s love encompasses all these things, because His love remains
unchanged, regardless of my own changes of focus, my misdirection or
“sin.” After all, “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we
were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom 5:8)
So if I’m discouraged today, about some sinful routine I can’t seem to
break, or some situation or relationship I can’t seem to set straight, let
me renew my love for God and faith in Him,–in light of His love for, and
faith in, me. Let me get on my knees and pray, at least briefly, that I may
have communion with His kind of love and faith – the unchanging kind.
Because He remains unchanged, and does not become discouraged, as
He observes my imperfect struggles up the mountain.
