Laodicea is Deceived<br />

Revelation 3:17<br />

You say, “I am rich; I have acquired wealth and<br />

do not need a thing.” But you do not realize that<br />

you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.<br />

We have discovered so far, spending the last<br />

two studies on verses 15 and 16, the true<br />

significance of our lukewarm condition, which we<br />

saw is the works of the law, or self-righteousness,<br />

or legalism. And once we have discovered this, we<br />

have actually laid the foundation for a true and for<br />

a meaningful study of the <strong>Laodicean</strong> message.<br />

This study, I would like us to consider verse<br />

17.&nbs; In verse 17, the “True Witness,” which is<br />

Christ, shows us how our lukewarm works, or our<br />

“lukewarmness,” our works of the law or legalism,<br />

has deceived us. When you look at the verse, you<br />

will find that we can divide this verse into two<br />
