What change takes place in the person?
1. Conversion means accepting Christ as your
life. The first thing that takes place when you are
converted is that the Holy Spirit comes and dwells
in your spirit. Just like Adam before the fall the
Holy Spirit dwells in you. This is because you
have surrendered your life to the cross, and you
have accepted the formula of the gospel, which is,
“Not I, but Christ.”
2. Paul tells us that this means that you have
been made spiritually alive. By birth, because of
the fall, you were born spiritually dead, but now
you have become spiritually alive.
3. Because you have accepted Christ as your
Saviour and as your Righteousness, you stand
