Thessalonians 1:3. What is Paul saying here?
He’s introducing himself, he’s writing an
introduction to the Thessalonians. He says in verse
3:
We continually remember before our God and
Father your work produced by faith, your labor
prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by
hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Another passage is James 2:14-26, where
James is saying that genuine faith always produces
works. And faith without works is dead. If your
faith doesn’t produce works, it is because your
faith is dead. James 2:14-26:
What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to
have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save
him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes
and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I
wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does
nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?
