means that there’s no hope for us, folks; it’s only<br />

Jews. If 144,000 is symbolic, then Israel must also<br />

be symbolic. Symbolic of what? Well, keep your<br />

finger here, and I’ll tell you how the New<br />

Testament interprets the symbol of Israel. Romans<br />

9:6-8. Let me quickly give you the context.<br />

God had promised Abraham, God had<br />

promised Israel, that ALL the seed of Abraham<br />

will be saved. Okay? ALL, no exception. All the<br />

seed of Abraham will be saved. That was a<br />

promise made by God. Now comes the Apostles<br />

telling the Jews that you are lost. And the Jews<br />

retorted, “Okay, if we are lost, then God has failed<br />

to keep His promise.” And Paul says, “No, God<br />

will keep His promise.” And this is what he says<br />

in Romans 9:6-8:<br />

It is not as though God’s word had failed.<br />

[“God will keep His promise, but the problem is<br />

your interpretation of ‘Israel.’”] For not all who are<br />

descended from Israel are Israel. [So God doesn’t<br />

consider all Jews to be part of Israel. <strong>The</strong>n who is<br />

Israel?] Nor because they are his descendants are<br />
