you’re unconverted. So the question is, “Is Christ<br />

talking here to unconverted people?” And the<br />

answer is no, because He already identifies with<br />

Laodicea as His people. What He means is, “I am<br />

outside of your works,” because that’s the issue. “I<br />

know your works, I am not the Source of your<br />

works, it’s your self-righteousness that you’re<br />

doing. And I want to be inside. I want to be the<br />

Source of your works, I want to be part of your<br />

works.” In other words, “I’m knocking to be the<br />

Source of your works. Please let Me be your<br />

righteousness. Not only in terms of your standing<br />

before God, but in terms of your Christian living.”<br />

Now to understand this we need to realize that<br />

the New Testament divides Christians into two<br />

camps. And I want to give you a passage. Turn to<br />

1 Corinthians. This is a problem that we need to<br />

come to grips with. I want you to notice what Paul<br />

does here, he divides Christians into two camps, 1<br />

Corinthians 3:1-3:<br />

Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual<br />

but as worldly...<br />
