Songs, some even think it’s pornography, Biblical
pornography. I would recommend to you a book
that to me is the finest book I’ve ever read
concerning the Song of Songs; it gives us a
tremendous spiritual application. It is by a Chinese
author, some of you are familiar with him, by the
name of Watchman Nee. He has written a book on
the Song of Songs, and just go to a Christian book
store and ask them to get the book for you if you
don’t have it. It’s an excellent book on the Song of
Songs. Because the Song of Songs is written really
for the spiritually minded people, it is God’s
concern to have a close fellowship with His
believers. And that is what Christ is pleading for.
Now the first thing I want you to take note of is
the first expression or word, “Here I am!”
(“Behold” in some translations). It’s a very
interesting expression. It means, “Please become
aware of” or “take notice.” Take notice of what?
If you look at the next statement, “I stand at the
door and knock,” it sounds as if Christ is outside of
you, and if He’s outside of you, it means that
