Although the pricing was non-weighted which placed Downer Edi Works as the Panel‟s<br />

preferred Tenderer based on the Selection Criteria, an assessment <strong>of</strong> the prices was made<br />

to ensure Council would still receive value for money from the tender process. Whilst there<br />

was considerable variability in the rates supplied, the panel agreed that the predominance<br />

<strong>of</strong> work being the laying <strong>of</strong> footpaths and extruded kerbing revealed that Downer Edi‟s<br />

Schedule <strong>of</strong> Rates was the best <strong>of</strong>fer.<br />

Options<br />

Council has the following options available:<br />

Accept the tender from Downer Edi Works,<br />

Accept the tender from Carr Civil Contracting, or<br />

Not accept a tender.<br />

Policy Implications<br />

There are no relevant policy implications pertaining to this matter.Legislative Implications<br />

Under the Local Government Act, Council must tender for works or services where<br />

expenditure will or is anticipated to exceed $100,000 p.a.Financial Implications<br />

Works will be ordered as required against existing budget allocations.Conclusion<br />

It is recommended that the tender from Downer Edi Works be accepted.<br />

Voting Requirements<br />

Simple.<br />

RECOMMENDATION<br />

That Council resolve to award the tender for M2-08/09 Provision <strong>of</strong> Concrete Works<br />

Including Supply and Delivery <strong>of</strong> Premixed Concrete to Downer Edi Works.<br />
