Accommodations on hard floor
Hard floor accommodations for those competitors
who signed up for them are located at
the Centralskolan school in Arvika. Its address
is Tingsgatan 34-36, 671 81 Arvika. The school
is located approximately 4km from O-Ringen
Square. No designated transport will be provided
from the school to O-Ringen Square.
Hosts will be available at the accommodations
to help with checking in and out and to answer
questions about the accommodations.
Portable stoves or similar appliances are not
allowed to be used indoors. Shoe washing indoors
is also prohibited.
Please show courtesy to others staying at the
school when it comes to cleanliness and order.
Quiet hours being at 10pm in the evenings.

Anniversary plaques
If you have completed 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 O-Ringens,
you can order an anniversary plaque via
oringen.se. Pre-ordered plaques can be picked
up at an official ceremony during Thursday’s
prizegiving. Competitors completing their 30th,
40th, or 50th O-Ringen will be specially recognized
at this ceremony. Report to the tent behind
the stage 15 minutes before the start of
prizegiving. If you cannot attend the ceremony,
you can pick up your plaque from Competitor
Services at O-Ringen City.
Bagheera youth relay
The Bagheera youth relay will take place at the
square in Arvika. It will start at 5:00pm after the
opening ceremonies.
Bib numbers
Competitors can pick up their individual
bib numbers as well as a competitor packet
at Competitor Services at O-Ringen City.
Pre-printed bib numbers are provided for
entries made through 9pm, Saturday, July 22.
Uncollected bib numbers can be picked up
at Competitor Services at competition arenas
during the O-Ringen week. Bib numbers for
competitors who registered after 9pm on July
22 will be printed out when competitors come
to the Pre Booked Start Start area of Competitor
Services at the arenas.
Bib numbers for Mountain Bike-O and
Trail-O competitors can be picked up at Competitor
Services at O-Ringen City through 9pm
on Saturday, July 22. After that, they can be
picked up at the competition arenas.
Bicycles and bicycle parking
Bicycle parking is located adjacent to the competition
arenas and to O-Ringen Square. It is
not allowed to ride bicycles inside O-Ringen
Square. Bicycles can be rented and repaired at
O-Ringen Square.
Bus parking for club buses
Infromation will available from Competitor
Services at O-Ringen Square. Club buses over
3.5 tons must park in specially designated
parking spots. No separate signage will be
provided for club buses.
Bus transport
Buses will go every day from O-Ringen City
and the competition arenas. We recommend
getting an early start if you want to avoid congestion
and long queues.
Bus tickets are not necessary; their cost is included
in the entry fees. Traveling companions
and spectators ride for free. Event officials will
be present to organize passengers into lines,
help with strollers, loading passengers, etc.
Follow the officials’ instructions and be ready
to board when the buses arrive.
Café
Several kiosks selling snacks and beverages are
located at the arenas and at O-Ringen Square.
Bröderna Olssons restaurant is also located at
O-Ringen Square. Several cozy cafés can be
found in central Arvika.
Campers and RVs
Designated campsites are available for RVs at
O-Ringen City. Additional day parking is available
at the harbor in Arvika, Larstomta B&B in Gunnarskog
and Ingestrand just south of Arvika.

Car travel
Car traffic will be directed to the competition
arenas along specific roads. More information
and maps can be found on page 9. Try to carpool
whenever possible to help minimize traffic
jams and harm to the environment.
Childcare
Childcare for children between ages 3 and 8 is
available at all stages between 7am-4pm. You
can sign up through the registration portal at
oringen.se, at Competitor Services at O-Ringen
City, or at the arenas. The price is 100 SEK/
day. Show your receipt/confirmation when
you come to the childcare area.
Clothing return
Warm-up clothing will not be transported
back from the starts.

Competitor Services
A Competitor Services kiosk is located both in
O-Ringen City and out at the arenas. This is a
place where you can get help with most matters
related to O-Ringen: registration, changes,
lost and found, general information, etc.
The Competitor Services locations at the
arenas are mostly meant for issues related to
the competition itself. The arena locations of
Competitor Services consist of three parts:
competitor services, pre-registered runners,
and day-of registration. Similar services are
also available at the arenas for Trail-O and
Mountain Bike-O races.

Directions and parking
O-Ringen City is located at the Westlanda
airport in Rackstad Northeast of Arvika. Road
signs directing competitors to O-Ringen City
will be posted along road 61 and Gunnarskogsvägen.
Once you arrive at O-Ringen City,
please follow directions given by traffic and
parking personnel.
Electronic punching / SportIdent (SI) chips
It is essential for the smooth running of O-Ringen
that every competitor has his or her own
SI chip with a number corresponding to the
number recorded in our data system. The
number of an SI chip used by a competitor can
be changed at oringen.se/stamplingsbricka
or at Competitor Services. This year SI chips
will be checked on the way to the start for all
competitors. Make sure to pass the SI control
station before you leave the arena on the way
to the start.
You can rent an SI chip at Competitor Services
(50 SEK per day, or 250 SEK for the whole
week). Rented SI chips must be returned at the
end of the rental period or after downloading.
Competitors will be charged 600 SEK for an
unreturned rented SI chip. The chip will then
not be usable at any other competition.
Entry on the day
If you did not pre-register via oringen.se, you
can get help registering for the competitions
at Competitor Services at the arenas. At some
times of day, this can lead to longer lines..
Environmental concerns
O-Ringen is an environmentally friendly event.
It is important that all participants contribute
to our effort to protect the environment by:
• using public transport and bicycles as much
as possible to get around the area and get
to and from the arenas;
• conserve water and electricity;
• sort trash and recycling: sorting bins can be
found under the “Håll Sverige Rent/Keep
Sweden Clean” signs by the hygiene stations;
• reuse or return your plastic bottles;
• purchase ecological, locally-sourced, and
environmentally certified foods and products
as much as possible;
• use environmentally certified dishwashing
soap, shampoo, conditioner, and soap. All
shampoo and soap provided by O-Ringen
at the showers at the arenas is environmentally
certified;
• pick up after yourself and others: clean surroundings
improve life for everyone;
• conduct an inspection of your club’s area
when you leave it, both at the campground,
at the arenas, and in the showers;
• respect all areas marked “out of bounds” in
terrain before, during, and after the competition;
• always act as an ambassador for an environmentally
friendly orienteering sport by
following all the recommendations listed
above.
Fires and grilling
At the campsite, grilling is only allowed at specifically
designated grill locations, which are
equipped with containers for disposable grills
and ash.
Gas and cooking stove fuel
Propane gas and cooking stove fuel can be
purchased at Arvika Hyrtjänst, Verkstadsgatan
12; OKQ8 Arvika, Blästervägen 2; Shell/7-Eleven
and in Brunskog at the Coop Nära Vikene
grocery store.
Golf
The O-Ringen golf competition will take place
on activity day, Tuesday, July 25, at 8am. A
singles competition, consisting of stroke play
over 18 holes, will take place with a shotgun
start at 8:00am. The entry fee is 450 SEK per
person, including lunch. Register via golf.se.
The event is limited to 102 participants.
Groceries
The nearest grocery store is Coop Styckåsen,
about 4km from O-Ringen City.
Healthcare
Call 112 in the event of a medical emergency
or acute injury. Each arena will be equipped
with a mobile clinic with doctors, physical
therapists, and nurses, open between 7:45am
and 4:30pm. First aid is available at the finish
line, as well as out in the forest. Its location is
marked with a red cross on the maps. Medical
advice can be provided by telephone at 1177
twenty-four hours a day.
Information about illnesses and injuries related
to the orienteering competitions will be
recorded anonymously during the O-Ringen
week as part of a research effort to improve
medical care for future events. Consent will be
asked for during registration. Please contact
the competition doctor, Alexander Moberg,
at alexander.moberg@liv.se, if you have any
thoughts or questions.
Laundry
Laundry facilities, courtesy of Folksam, are
available at O-Ringen Square. Stop by to book
a washing time.
Massage
The Dala Massage Team will be present at the
arenas each competition day between 8am-
3pm. Opening hours for massage at O-Ringen
Square will be Saturday, July 22, 12pm-6pm;
Tuesday, July 25, 10am-8pm; Sunday, Monday,
Wednesday, and Thursday, 2pm-8pm. You
can select from among sports massage, injury
treatment, and rehab and taping.
Maze
The Bagheera Maze at O-Ringen Square is
open for youth under 16, who can compete
and record their times every day during O-Ringen
week. Each day’s final competition will
be broadcast live on Radio O-Ringen. You can
also complete the maze informally, without
an Punching Card, each day that O-Ringen
Square is open. All maze courses will be available
for viewing in Livelox, at livelox.com. Radio
O-Ringen will provide course analysis Sunday-Thursday
at 5pm.

Opening ceremonies
The O-Ringen 2017 opening ceremony will
take place on Saturday, July 22 at 4pm at the
square in central Arvika. Entertainment begins
at 2:15pm.
Orienteering school
We are available at each competition arena
every competition day and are open between
9am-3pm.

quickly register for a variety of services in
conjunction with O-Ringen. You can get information
about the variety and difficulty levels
of courses, sign up for accommodations or
String-O, and register for fun activities during
the week.
Parkng
Free parking is available at the bus stop at
O-Ringen City. At stages 1-4 you can park your
car for 20 SEK per day. At stage 5, there are two
options for parking: red parking (free) and blue
parking (paid).
