8 PROGRAMME O-RINGEN VÄRMLAND 2017 Pre-register for your races – get more time to hang out This year, for the first time, you can pre-register for your races all the way until the start of the competition. You can purchase your entry or any additional services whenver you like: right now; the evening before; or on the way to the arena. Even if you wait until you see the queue at the “Köp Start” / ”Purchase Start” tent, you can still sign up via oringen.se. Then, just go by the ”Förbokad Start” / “Pre Booked Start Starts” tent and pick up your bib number and rented Punching Card, if you need one, before heading out to your start. If you registered after 9pm on July 22, you will need to have your bib number printed out here. If you need support through the registration process, you can visit Competitor Services at O-Ringen City, where you can get help with your registration for competitions, accommodations, and activities. Competitor Services tents at the arenas are available to provide you with help registering for some of our services, such as childcare. Here you can also get help renting or changing Punching Cards, replace a lost bib number, or submit or pick up lost and found items. The ”Förbokad Start” / “Pre Booked Start Starts” tent for those who have pre-booked but not picked up their bib numbers, and the “Köp Start” / ”Purchase Start” tent for those who need to register are located nearby. At the “Köp Start” / ”Purchase Start” tent you can get help registering for any still available classes and competitions: everything from Stage Start and Personal Program to Try- It-Out. String-O courses for kids are most easily booked through oringen.se. That is also the case for the Training Race, MtbO, Trail-O, as well as MtbO and Trail-O Try-It-Out activities on Activitiy Day, Tuesday, July 25. oringen.se always gives you access to all available options, including competition options and services. You can book whenever is convenient for you. The only thing left to do at the arena is to pick up your bib number before you head out for the day’s adventure. Competitor Services This is where you can register for childcare, change Punching Card numbers, rent an Punching Card, submit lost items, get help with lost bib numbers, and most other things related to the competition itself. Pre Booked Start Starts / Förbokad start If you registered prior to 9pm on July 22, you should be able to pick up your pre-printed bib number here. Bib numbers for those who signed up after this time are printed out for you when you visit this tent. Purchase Start / Köp start If you did not register ahead of time, you should go to the Purchase Start / Kör Start tent at the arena and register there. If there are long queues, it is recommended that you try to register via oringen.se. Event officials will be available to help with your questions. 1 Go to oringen.se/book and book your start. 6 Basket Review and if needed change your booking When you are done, click CONTINUE 2 Click Add under competition Competition Book your competition entry + Add 7 Main traveller information For each participant enter class/course, punching card, name and club. When you are done, click CONTINUE 3 BOOK NOW Choose competition and click You can choose from: Learn and try Stage Start Personal Program 8 Pay with card CONFIRM & PAY When you are done, click (your card need to be open for Internet purchase) Try and learn more about orienteering. You will find courses for all levels, e.g. Introduction and Miniknat for the youngest. Take part at one or several stages. With Stage Start you have the freedom to choose course every day. Create your own competition over 3 or 5 days. Here you will find Motion and Challenge. 9 You will now receive a booking receipt via email. You are done with your booking. 4 Choose date, discipline and which age groupe you want to book. You can book for several persons at the same time. Go to the tent Pre Booked Start at the Arena to pick up your bib and if rented your punching card. When you are done, click BOOK Go to start. 8 PROGRAMME O-RINGEN VÄRMLAND 2017 9 Bagheera maze The Bagheera maze is, first and foremost and fun and exciting youth activitiy. It is also a competition! Competitors and spectators are asked to be nice and show respect – both within the maze and outside! Times Sunday, July 23 Qualification: 2pm-3:45pm Finals: 4pm-4:50pm Monday, July 24 Qualification: 2pm-3:45pm Finals: 4pm-4:50pm 8 3 7 4 1 2 9 5 9 2 9 2 5 4 1 7 3 Tuesday, July 25 Qualification: 11am-12:45pm Finals: 1pm-2pm Wednesday, July 26 Qualification: 2pm-3:45pm Finals: 4pm-4:50pm 6 6 Thursday, July 27 Qualification: 2pm-3:45pm Finals: 4pm-4:50pm Registration Only on location, from about 30 minutes before the qualification races start (for example, on Tuesday, 10:30am). No cost. By registering you confirm that your name and result can be presented on the internet as well as on Radio O-Ringen broadcasts. Classes Two classes. DH-12 and DH13-16. For others who are interested, see below. Each competition day is independent, and no combined results will be recorded. Punching system SportIdent Air (SIAC). You can run with your own SIAC-chip if you have over. Otherwise you can borrow one for free. Competition The Bagheera Maze O-Ringen 2017 is raced through head-to-head duels. Challenge a friend or rival in the Bagheera Maze. There will be two Mazes this year, identical but mirror images of each other. Competitors start two at a time: one has Course A and the other Course B. Competitors run through the first maze (A or B, depending on the one you have), come out the back of the maze to a turn-around control outside the maze, and then go through the other maze from the back and then run to the finish. This setup gives the public a very clear understanding of the standings at the turnaround control and then allows them to see who is first to the finish. See the attached sketch of what a maze map might look like. Setup – Qualification Each competitor can run a maximum of two times (once with Course A and once with Course B). You can run with anyone you want, as long as they are from the same class (DH-12 or DH13-16). If there is no one you want to run with, the organizers will add a competitor in the vacant spot. Start intervals will be 30 seconds between each pair. If there is a lot of crowding, the organizers reserve the right to change the start interval. In order to go through to the Finals, you have to be fast. It doesn’t matter if you run Course A or B, since they are the same. The four fastest boys and girls in DH12 and DH13-16 go through to the Quarter-finals. This will be announced right after the qualifiers, around 3:50pm (12:50pn on Tuesday). Setup - Finals All 16 finalists (8 in DH12 and 8 in DH13-16) must be in place by 3:50pm (12:50pm on Tuesday) in the special tent for finalists. If you are not there in time, you forfeit, and your opponent moves on by default. Finals have a knockout format. The maze is the same as in the qualification races, but the course is new for each round. The fastest time in the qualifier (regardless of gender) competes against the 8th fastest, the 2nd against the 7th, and so on. The fastest time from the qualification can choose their course (A or B) in each round. Heat order: 1.QF DH12 1-8, 4-5, 3-6 and 2-7 2. QF DH13-16 1-8, 4-5, 3-6 och 2-7 3. SF DH12 1/8-4/5 and 3/6-2/7 4. SF DH13-16 1/8-4/5 and 3/6-2/7 5. FINAL DH12 6. FINAL DH13-16 The winners in each heat in the QF and SF will immediately go back to the finalist tent and wait there for the next round. Radio O-Ringen The finals will be broadcast LIVE on Radio O-Ringen from 3:50pm-5pm each day that the Bagheera Maze is operating (Tuesday between 12:50pm-2pm). The commentator and speaker during the Bagheera Maze is Anton Sjökvist. Prizegiving Prizes will be awarded immediately after the finals, approximately 5pm (Tuesday 2pm) in Radio O-Ringen’s studio at O-Ringen Square. Shadowing No shadowing is allowed in either the qualification or the finals. On the other hand, shadowing is allowed during Maze for All times, see below. Example of how the Bagheera maze will look like. Only competitors can be in the mazes, as well as in the designated areas behind the mazes. Maze for All The mazes with finals courses will remain open until 8pm each evening, but without timing and results. Anyone can try the Bagheera Maze! Race a duel against your grandchild, your mom or dad, or a friend from a neighboring club. Several laminated maps will be available at the entrance to the Bagheera Maze.
