Our sector continues to grow all the time.
In 2017 the total solar energy installed
power reached 2647 MW. This means
that about 1.800 MW are gained in 1
year. So the installed power in the sector
increased by double in 1 year. What is
more important is that Turkey was the
country that added the most solar energy
capacity in Europe in 2017. If we add all
the facilities that have obtained ready for
provisional acceptance certificates this
figure goes up to 3421 MW. However,
the steps taken for rooftop installations,
the changing regulations and YEKA
show that the sector will grow even
more. Both the industrial and individual
sectors provide amazing opportunities.
It is pleasing to see that technology with
the condition of being YEKA supported
for domestic production, and R&D is
coming to our country. What is important
is that the entire sector makes this growth
sustainable. Measures need to be taken to
create a national solar energy strategy in
order to do this. Since we as the Prysmian
Group Turkey, are a company that is
a leader in the world and an achiever
of ‘firsts’ in the sector, are trying to
contribute to this development as much
as possible. The solar energy sector has a
long way to go but a little more ground is
covered by each project that is realized.
Everyone in this sector has a task to fulfill
in this sense.

yılmadan, bize yakışır şekilde başarı ile
tamamladık.
2018 yılını da benzer şekilde, önemli
ve prestijli projeler içerisinde yer alarak
ülkemizin ekonomisine katkı sağladığımız,
başarılı çalışmalar gerçekleştirdiğimiz
ve Türk kablo sektörünün gelişmesine
yönelik projeler içerisinde yer aldığımız bir
yıl olarak geride bırakmayı hedefliyoruz.
Bu yıl 11.’si düzenlenen Solarex
İstanbul Güneş Enerjisi ve
Teknolojileri Fuarı’na kaç yıldır
katılım sağlıyorsunuz? Fuarda
sergilemeye hazırlandığınız ürün
ve çözümlerden bahseder misiniz?
Solarex Fuarı’na bu yıl üçüncü kez
katılacağız. Fuarda, bu yıl da, hem sektöre
sunduğumuz ürün ve hizmetlerimizi
hem de 2012 yılında hayata geçirdiğimiz
ve Prysmian Performans Testi’yle
desteklediğimiz “Dikkat! Her Kablo Aynı
Değildir...” girişiminin dördüncü aşaması
olan “Dikkat! Her Solar (PV) Kablo Aynı
Değildir...” projemizle birlikte can ve
mal güvenliğimiz için kablolarda olması
gereken yangın güvenliğine de dikkat
çekeceğiz.
Solar kablolar alanında lider bir firma
olarak, ülkemizde güneş enerjisi konusunu
ele alan en büyük bir fuar olan ‘Solarex
İstanbul Fuarı’na katılmaktan mutluluk
duyuyoruz. Bizim açımızdan, güneş
One of the most important issues in the
cable sector in 2017 was the Construction
Products Regulation – CPR that became
a legal requirement for cables too on July
1, 2017. The objective of this regulation
is actually to start enforcing the EN
50575 in our country along with all the
other European Union countries. This
is a turning point in improving quality
and security. The Construction Products
Regulation imposed serious responsibility
on everyone from the cable producers in
the supply chain to the end user. With the
new Construction Products Regulation,
which aims to make all construction
products safe against fire hazards, the
producers that are able to adapt to this
standard are not only diversifying their
products and focusing more on added
value products but also trying to increase
their chances in the export market.
As one of the first companies in the
Turkish cable sector to obtain CPR
certification in 2016, we continue to work
for our sector concerning CPR and other
different fields.
What are the problems you have
experienced in your field and what
do you recommend as solutions?
Encountering non standard products on
the market due to the prevalent low quality
perception and inspections not being at the
necessary level yet are the main problems
in our sector.
Specifically to the solar sector; the
continuation of YEKA competition,
forging the path for the roof market
with the right legislation and allowing
unlicensed capacity to be opened stand out
as the critical issues for the sustainability
and development of the market.
It is becoming increasingly more
important to raise the sector’s awareness
on using the right, high performance
cables, to take the necessary measures to
make sure all producers keep producing
at the desired standards and to educate
companies that use cables on what
they should be demanding from cable
companies.
