like.

different designs of sun catchers
and wind chimes, or use a tablet
computer to scan these QR
codes.
Make a list of materials and
explore what the materials do,
using the materials T-chart.
Design, plan and manage
Plan your sun chime and collect your
materials.
Decide which materials you want
to use from the ones provided
by your teacher and make a list.
What materials will work best?
Draw a sketch of what your sun
chime will look like, including at
least four different 2-D shapes.
Think about how you will hang it
in the school grounds.

Check and make changes
Check that you have included at
least four 2-D shapes in your sun
chime.
Check that you have included
something that catches the
sun and something that makes
a sound when blowing in the
wind. Test it out and change
your design or the materials if it
isn’t working.
Is there anything else you can
add to make your sun chime
better?
Communicate
Record a short video showing
your sun chime in the school
grounds and how it catches the
sun and makes a sound when
the wind blows.
Share the video with the school
caretaker/gardener, or with the
whole school so they know that
the sun chimes will be displayed
for other pupils to look at.
