Achievements<br />

• <strong>Cardinia</strong> <strong>Shire</strong>’s new Liveability Plan <strong>2017</strong>–21<br />

adopted, underpinned by a collective impact approach<br />

• Child and Family Strategy <strong>2017</strong>–21 adopted,<br />

reinforcing our shire as a UNICEF ‘Child Friendly City’<br />

• Together We Can engaged with over 14,000<br />

people contributing to a 23.7 per cent decrease in<br />

family violence<br />

• Inaugural Community Emergency Resilience<br />

Forum hosted<br />

Achievements<br />

• Disability, Access and Inclusion Policy <strong>2017</strong>–21<br />

adopted and nine actions in the Disability, Access<br />

and Inclusion Action Plan <strong>2017</strong>–21 completed<br />

• <strong>Cardinia</strong> <strong>Shire</strong> designated as an International Safe<br />

Community through the World Health Organisation<br />

• Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Advisory Committee<br />

established to help inform new policies and services<br />

• The inaugural <strong>Cardinia</strong> Community Leadership Program<br />

had 16 graduates, with a further 20 people accepted<br />

into the 20<strong>18</strong> program<br />

Achievements<br />

• Sustainable Environment Policy 20<strong>18</strong>–28 adopted,<br />

ensuring a holistic approach to biodiversity, climate<br />

change, waste and water<br />

• The shire’s 1,000th solar system installed at Emerald<br />

Library as part of our Aspirational Energy Transition<br />

Plan 2014–24<br />

• <strong>Cardinia</strong> <strong>Shire</strong> <strong>Council</strong>’s Civic Centre achieved a five<br />

star Green Star Rating (office as built v3) from the<br />

Green Building <strong>Council</strong> of Australia<br />

• Continued increases in resource recovery in our green<br />

waste and hard waste contract, now up to 31 per cent<br />

Achievements<br />

• Casey <strong>Cardinia</strong> Visitation Strategy <strong>2017</strong>–20 adopted,<br />

encouraging the establishment of tourism activities<br />

and facilities across the shire<br />

• Networking, training and promotional opportunities<br />

delivered through Casey <strong>Cardinia</strong> Region<br />

• Supported three Casey <strong>Cardinia</strong> Business Breakfasts,<br />

the annual Women’s Business Lunch and the Casey<br />

<strong>Cardinia</strong> Business awards<br />

• Facilitated employment and business opportunities<br />

through the planning of town centres and<br />

employment precincts<br />

Achievements<br />

• <strong>Council</strong> Budget <strong>2017</strong>–<strong>18</strong> adopted, providing the<br />

largest budgeted amount for capital works in the<br />

shire’s history – more than $55.6 million<br />

• Advocacy program delivered to local candidates in<br />

the lead up to the state election, detailing 57 projects<br />

across the shire.<br />

• $6,151,441 received in capital works funding assistance<br />

from 14 successful grant applications<br />

• Community consultation opportunities provided<br />

and interactive dashboards launched to make our<br />

performance more visible to the community<br />
