Work with others to grow economic activity and attract new enterprises.<br />
Work with the Casey <strong>Cardinia</strong> Business Group<br />
and the Department of Economic Development,<br />
Jobs, Transport and Resources to attract new<br />
enterprises and enhance the economic activity in<br />
the region.<br />
Support businesses and organisations to enhance their skills.<br />
<strong>Council</strong> will help facilitate training opportunities for<br />
local businesses.<br />
<strong>Council</strong> has continued to work with all businesses<br />
and tourism groups as requested and has<br />
advocated to the Victorian Government for<br />
assistance. In the last 12 months Invest Assist<br />
within the state government has assisted <strong>Cardinia</strong><br />
to help two new large businesses to establish in<br />
the region, bringing over 350 jobs.<br />
A new online training portal was funded through<br />
Casey <strong>Cardinia</strong> Libraries to provide a free online<br />
service, accessible to greater numbers of business<br />
people as well as the general public. Over<br />
1,200 people per month have taken up this free<br />
service. <strong>Council</strong> continues to offer nine training<br />
courses throughout the year, as well as access to<br />
mentoring through the Small Business Bus and<br />
Small Business Victoria.<br />
