Protection from the Trials & Tribulations ef the Dqjjal<br />

' .. <strong>Al</strong>lahumma inni a'iidhu bika min 'adhab al-qabri, wa a'iidhu<br />

bika min .fttnat il-masih id-dajjaL..'<br />

' ... O <strong>Al</strong>lah, I seek protection with You from the torment<br />

<strong>of</strong> the grave, I seek protection with You from<br />

the .fttnah <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Dajjal</strong>...' 1<br />

al-Bukhari narrates from Mus'ab 2 who said: Sa'd used to command<br />

with five matters mentioning that the Prophet (;i) used to<br />

command with them ... from them,<br />

'Wa inni a'iidhu bika min .fttnat ul-Du!!Jah ... '<br />

'I seek protection with You from the .fttnah <strong>of</strong> the<br />

dul!Ja (meaning: the .fttnah <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Dajjal</strong>) .. .' 3<br />

<strong>And</strong>, 'in employing the word dunyah, unrestrictedly for the<br />

<strong>Dajjal</strong> is an indication, that the .fitnah <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Dajjal</strong> is the greatest<br />

<strong>of</strong> all trials and tribulations to take place in the du,ryah.' 4<br />

Moreover, Muslim narrates that Abu Hurayrah (may <strong>Al</strong>lah be<br />

pleased with him) said: 'fhe Messenger <strong>of</strong> <strong>Al</strong>lah (;i) said:<br />
