killed and crucified 'Isa and those who handed him over to them<br />
from the ignorant Christians. So <strong>Al</strong>lah informs that the matter<br />
was not like that. However, his resemblance was placed over<br />
another man and that this man was killed without them realizing.<br />
<strong>The</strong>n he was raised to Him, and he is alive and will descend<br />
before the Day <strong>of</strong> Resurrection, as is proven by the mutawdtir<br />
ahddith.' 33<br />
He further cites that it is reported from ibn 'Abbas and others<br />
that the attended pronoun in His saying, ' ... before his death,'<br />
means the people <strong>of</strong> the scripture, and comments. If this (report)<br />
is authentic then it is not inconsistent with what has been<br />
cited. However the correct view regarding the meaning ( <strong>of</strong> this<br />
qyah) and in transmission is what we have already mentioned.' 34<br />
