<strong>The</strong> Narrations regarding the Descension <strong>of</strong> 1sa are Mutawdtir<br />

Some scholars have mentioned that the dencension <strong>of</strong>'Isa (may<br />

<strong>Al</strong>lah's peace and blessing be upon him) and that he will descend<br />

to kill the <strong>Dajjal</strong> - May <strong>Al</strong>lah disfigure him - is from amongst<br />

the 'Aqidah <strong>of</strong> Ah/u/-Sunnah wal Jama'ah.<br />

Imam A~mad ibn J:-Ianbal says, '<strong>The</strong> Principles <strong>of</strong> the Sunnah<br />

with us are: Holding fast to what the Companions <strong>of</strong> the Prophet<br />

(~) were upon, to take them as example. To abandon all innovations,<br />

for every (act <strong>of</strong>) innovation is misguidance.'<br />

He then went on to mention a number <strong>of</strong> fundamental beliefs<br />

<strong>of</strong> Ah/ul-Sunnah, and stated,' ... and to have imdn that a/-Masip al­<br />

<strong>Dajjal</strong> is to emerge (and) written between his (two) eyes is (the<br />

word) 'Kd-Fa-Rd', and (to have imdn in) the narrations which occur<br />

regarding him. <strong>And</strong> to have imdn that will take place, and (to<br />

have imdn) that 'Isa (may <strong>Al</strong>lah's peace and blessing be upon him)<br />

shall descend and shall kill him at the gate <strong>of</strong> Ludd.' 62<br />

Abu'l J:-Iasan al-'Asha'ri 63 has stated in his citation <strong>of</strong> the 'Aqidah<br />

<strong>of</strong> the People <strong>of</strong> !jadith and Sunnah', to acknowledge and to have<br />

Iman in <strong>Al</strong>lah, His Angel, his Books and His Messenger, and<br />

what has come by way <strong>of</strong> revelation from <strong>Al</strong>lah and what has<br />

been narrated by the trustworthy ones (thiqd!J from <strong>Al</strong>lah's<br />

He is the Imam, al-'<strong>Al</strong>lamah, Abu'! f:{asan '<strong>Al</strong>i ibn Isma'il from the progeny<br />
