BA 177, 277, 377, 477 Special Topics in Business Administration (1)<br />
An exploration of a selected topic or problem in business administration.<br />
BA 201 The Real “Bottom Line”: Foundations of Business Thought (1)<br />
An examination of classic and contemporary literature in order to explore perceptions and<br />
opinions about business and the role individuals play in business organizations. The<br />
course reviews the evolution of thought on the organizational structure of business<br />
enterprises. In particular, it considers objectives of business beyond profitability: that is,<br />
more than the “bottom line.”<br />
BA 251 Navigating Negotiation in the Marketplace (1)<br />
Introduces fundamental skills of advocacy, negotiating skills, conflict resolution, needs<br />
identification and customer care. The course will provide practice in delivering effective<br />
public presentations, one-on-one customer sales scenarios, and writing effective business<br />
emails, letters, reports, and sales-related documents.<br />
BA 293, 393, 493 Independent Study in Business Administration (½ or 1)<br />
Directed study for advanced students in the major. Specific guidelines concerning<br />
independent study projects appear in the “Exploration Term and Contract Learning”<br />
section of this catalog.<br />
BA 297, 397, 497 Internship in Business Administration (½ or 1)<br />
An internship opportunity allowing students to practice career skills and/or further<br />
develop abilities beneficial for graduate study. Specific guidelines concerning internships<br />
appear in the “Exploration Term and Contract Learning” section of this catalog.<br />
BA 298, 398, 498 Teaching Experience in Business Administration (½ or 1)<br />
A teaching experience course. Specific guidelines concerning teaching experiences<br />
appear in the “Teaching Experiences” section of this catalog. Open to sophomores,<br />
juniors, or seniors with consent of major advisor.<br />
BA 301 International Business and Marketing (1)<br />
A focused examination of principles of international business and marketing, including<br />
marketing analysis, product development, pricing, global channels of distribution,<br />
international trade and economic structures, and promotion as applied in the international<br />
setting. This course is designed for non-majors. Does not satisfy requirements for<br />
business administration major.<br />
BA 311 Quantitative Analysis for Business and Economics (1)<br />
Selected methods and techniques related to managerial choice and administrative<br />
decision making. (Also listed as EC 311.) Prerequisites: BA 201 and MA 207. Fall,<br />
