Meals<br />
Students are required to participate in a meal plan during regular and summer terms;<br />
enrollment is optional during the Exploration term. The plans vary according to meal<br />
access and amount of “panther bucks,” which can be used at food service locations<br />
outside the cafeteria by presenting a Birmingham-Southern campus card.<br />

In case of a lost campus card, the student is responsible for notifying the Bursar’s Office<br />
immediately to stop any unauthorized use of the card. If the Bursar’s Office is notified,<br />
the student may be responsible for no more than $50 in unauthorized charges. There is a<br />
fee for replacing a lost campus card. There is no fee for replacing a damaged or illegible<br />
card upon presentation of that card to the Bursar’s Office.<br />
Refunds<br />
A student dropping all courses should refer to the policies for withdrawal in the<br />
“Withdrawal from the College” section and the “Implications of Withdrawal” section of<br />
this catalog. No adjustment of charges is made after the third week of a fall or spring term<br />
or after the first week of a summer term.<br />
Students who withdraw from the College within the first three weeks of a regular term or<br />
the first week or a summer term may be entitled to a partial refund of tuition and fees.<br />
Tuition and fee refunds are made only upon the receipt of a completed official<br />
withdrawal form. Tuition and fees include tuition, student government fee, information<br />
technology fee, course fees, and campus housing and meal plan fees.<br />
Refunds are granted for any withdrawal during a fall or spring term, including<br />
withdrawals for medical reasons, according to the following schedule: for withdrawals<br />
completed by the end of week one, 80% of the student’s charges are refunded; end of<br />
week two, 60%; end of week three, 40%, and 0% thereafter. For summer term,<br />
withdrawals completed by the end of week one, 50% of the student’s charges are<br />
