HARMAN UNVEILS
IMPRESSIVE AUDIO
LINE-UP FOR IFA
Speakers, soundbars and headphones
deliver quality, connectivity and
immersion
HARMAN is at IFA Berlin 2019
with a range of cutting edge audio
products including the easy music
streaming speakers JBL Link
Portable and JBL Link Music. Both
incorporate 360 JBL Signature
Sound, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
connectivity, Chromecast and
Google Assistant built-in, and are
available in several vibrant colours.
“Our customers told us how
important easy music streaming
is,” says Dave Rogers, President,
HARMAN Lifestyle Audio. “That’s
why we’ve designed these speakers
with the option of Wi-Fi streaming
for more seamless connectivity.
We’ve priced the JBL Link Portable
and Link Music very competitively.”
Also in the speaker range is JBL’s
Pulse 4. From living room to beach
party, the JBL Pulse 4 provides
incredible sound, with visuals to
match. High-resolution LED lights
beneath its sleek surface produce
stunning light shows.
Still at IFA, HARMAN is showcasing
the JBL LIVE 300TWS headphones,
enabled by Google Assistant and
Amazon Alexa. Truly wireless,
seamlessly connected and
beautifully designed, the JBL LIVE
300TWS enables users to unleash
their sound, anytime, everywhere.
“We wanted to develop a range to let
everyone feel fully immersed in the
moment, no matter their activity,”
explains Dave Rogers.
Additionally, JBL is in Berlin with
three new soundbars. The three
models are the JBL’s Bar 5.1
Surround, the JBL Bar 2.1 Deep
Bass and the JBL Bar 2.0: “JBL
designs soundbars for every home
environment and we’ve just raised
the bar with our new collection,”
says Rogers.
JBL describes them as slimmer,
carrying a punchier bass and giving a
more immersive sound.
For movie fans, the JBL Bar
5.1 deploys JBL’s proprietary
MultiBeam technology allowing for
panoramic surround sound without
additional rear speakers. With built
in Wi-Fi, Airplay 2 and Chromecast,
it is designed to integrate in the
home wireless music system
German manufacturing brand
Braun has its origins in hifi and
audio equipment. And it has chosen
IFA - historically rooted in radio
technology – to announce its return
to the audio sector after 28 years
away. Its comeback is a re-invention
of the classic LE speakers from 1959
with a range launched here this
week, available to buy from October.
Aesthetically, the LE01, LE02 and
LE03 echo the simple design of their
twentieth century predecessor but
the new products are state-of-theart:
voice control, Google Assistant,
wirelessly paired multi-room
functionality and software support
for streaming services all bring the
speakers up to date, allowing them
to act as a control hub for the smart
home. Developed and manufactured
with British audio specialists
Pure, the smart speakers have a
machined aluminium surround and
minimalist button configuration
and LED sequences. To ensure high
sound quality, their Balanced Mode
Radiator (BMR) drive units provide
a near 180-degree soundstage
and, whether wall-mounted or
freestanding, a pair can be configured
as integrated stereo speakers.
Making their global debut at IFA, the
speakers mark a welcome return for
the Braun Audio brand
CONSUMERS
INCREASINGLY FOCUS
ON SOUND QUALITY
As TVs get bigger and bigger, and
at the same time, especially thanks
to OLED technology, are getting
thinner and thinner, the room for
speakers is often an issue.
Braun’s re-invented LE speakers
JBL
Reflect Flow
This creates an opportunity for
external speaker systems. So,
while on the one hand consumers
are spending less on their TVs and
average sales prices are decreasing,
on the other, they are increasingly
conscious about sound quality and
are spending that saved budget on
soundbars. As a result, the turnover
for soundbars has been increasing
year-on-year, and in 2019 it rose by
Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar
a further 7%. Single-sold soundbars
contributed with an increase of 13%
and wireless subwoofers grew by
5%
