CDB 20/09 Donegal CDB Endorsement of Community & Local Development Agency Plans
(Attachment 7)
The Chairperson invited Mr Garry Martin to give an update to the Board.
Mr Martin, referring members to attachment 7, advised that the Department of
Environment, Heritage & Local Government would require an annual report regarding
the Endorsement of Community and Local Development Agency Plans process, and that
this aspect should be considered further as part of the CDB review process. Mr Martin
advised that the endorsement process had been beneficial, as it had allowed the Board to
develop stronger relations with the local development companies.
Mr Michael Tunney advised that Enterprise Ireland had revisited their development
plans to take account of the changed economic circumstances. He suggested that the
endorsement process should be used to facilitate more joined up development planning
across the various development agencies.
Ms Shauna McClenaghan advised that Inishowen Development would welcome
working closely on a countywide basis and advised that their Development Plan is
reviewed on an ongoing basis.
