• J Jackson submitted list of issues raised by the Job Club in Buncrana.<br />
• M O’Heanaigh requested that any further outstanding information be submitted as soon as<br />
possible.<br />
• The finalised summary document will be circulated to the CDB for information and will<br />
feed into the economic sub-group.<br />
• A Holohan and C Gallagher agreed to provide case studies in support of the CDB<br />
submission.<br />
• Integrated service delivery and one-stop shop system in <strong>Donegal</strong> is proving extremely<br />
beneficial in current climate as people can obtain majority of assistance from one location.<br />
• A discussion took place regarding the increase in emigration and P Skinnader agreed to<br />
provide contact details of Irish Emigration Centres abroad. This information could be made<br />
available to people before they leave the country to ensure they are aware that support<br />
structures are in place to provide assistance.<br />
4. Update on Priority Projects<br />
o Deprivation Figures (DLDC)<br />
o G O’Maolain talked the group through a Pobail report on deprivation, which highlights the<br />
high levels of deprivation along the west and northwest coast and the failure to<br />
redistribute wealth from the SE region.<br />
o It was noted that notwithstanding grant aid available to west and northwest regions from<br />
Peace, Interreg, Leader etc. that deprivation levels remain highest in these areas.<br />
o G O’Maolain to provide the group with a link to the deprivation report.<br />
o Key Stats from SILC 2007<br />
o L McNicholas presented the group with statistics from the 2007 Living In Ireland Survey<br />
and advised that these statistics may be used in the compilation of reports, funding<br />
applications etc.<br />
o The group would be interested in seeing 2008 figures when available and asked if BMW<br />
and SE data could be separated for comparison.<br />
o It was felt important that CDB Economic Group be made aware of these findings.<br />
o Community and Voluntary Register<br />
o L McNicholas gave a brief outline of the work undertaken to date on the Community &<br />
Voluntary Register.<br />
o 502 groups are now on the register, which is being examined for duplication and to ensure<br />

that all registered groups are still in existence.<br />
It is proposed that registers will be updated on a six-monthly basis (i.e. in June and<br />
December) each year.<br />
Application forms can be downloaded from www.donegal.ie and are also available<br />
directly from DCC.<br />
o G O’Maolain advised that a significant number of groups have yet to register.<br />
o AM Conlon outlined the benefit of groups registering with the Community & Voluntary<br />
Register.<br />
<strong>Donegal</strong> CDB Interagency Group on Traveller Issues<br />
o The next meeting is due to take place on Thursday, 26 th February when approval for the<br />
Strategic Plan will be sought.<br />
o AM Conlon provided the group with an update on the Pavee Pathways and Pilot Tenant<br />
<strong>Part</strong>icipation Project. A brief discussion took place in relation to the launch of Pavee<br />
Pathways and it was agreed to proceed with the launch.<br />
