Current Research
My current research is focused on study gamma-ray spectroscopy on neutron-rich nuclei. Studies of
atomic nuclei far from the valley of stability provide a unique opportunity to increase our
understanding of nuclear interactions in extreme conditions and often challenge theoretical models. In
exotic nuclei, far from the valley of beta-stability, a small change in the numbers of protons (Z) and
neutrons (N) can drastically modify their internal structure and lead to new nuclear phenomena.
Fundamental information to understand how nuclear structure and internal interactions between protons
and neutrons are affected by such variations is desirable both theoretically and experimentally.

Current Research
My research focuses on the origin of very energetic particles in solar flares and high energy
astrophysical sources. In particular, I am using observations to probe the particle acceleration by
turbulent electromagnetic fields in solar flares, low-luminosity supermassive black holes, radio
galaxies, and supernova remnants.
