Current Research<br />

My scientific work at the <strong>Universities</strong> of Glasgow and Strathclyde involves experiments aimed at the<br />

detection of gravitational waves from astrophysical sources. I have participated in the fabrication and<br />

testing of the prototype monolithic mirror suspensions for advanced gravitational wave interferometers.<br />

I have also been involved in the design and construction of the sensors which will interrogate and damp<br />

the violin mode resonances in the silica suspension.<br />
