Current Research
My research interest is in the area of magnetic thin films investigated by transmission electron
microscopy (TEM). Currently of great interest are magnetic nanowires and systems whose behaviour
has been modified by ion beam irradiation. These material systems are of great as potential in
spintronic devices. The magnetic structure is probed using the Lorentz imaging modes of TEM on a
scale of less than 10 nanometres. My interests also include development of these techniques and the
extraction of quantitative information on this length scale.
