Unlike other Spanish wine regions, DO Almansa has not yet garnered the reputation it<br />
deserves. And yet, this tiny area of south-eastern Spain not only boasts ideal conditions<br />
for growing vines, but also traits that make it unique. Bodegas Piqueras, one of the<br />
region’s long-standing wineries, has tasked winemaker Juan Pablo Cantos Serrano<br />
with sharing with the world the true treasure trove it has in its possession. And that’s<br />
what he has done. Painstakingly, resourcefully and with considerable craftsmanship,<br />
he is writing the finest chapter in the appellation’s story.<br />
