Create a user-defined property of the list type
To create a user-defined property of the list type for comparison to another list:
1 Go to Policy | Rule Sets.
2 From the rule sets menu, select User Defined Properties.
3 Click Add and select User Defined Properties. The Add New User Defined Property window opens.
4 Configure the following settings for the property:
• Name — User-Defined.listOfWords
• Type — List
• List content type — String
• Comment — [Optional] Plain-text comment on the property
5 Select the Initially empty checkbox.
6 Click OK. The Add New User Defined Property window closes and the property is added to the list.
7 Click Save Changes.
You can use a rule to set this property to a particular value, which is a list of strings. You can then use
another rule to compare this string list to another string list, for example, a list of bad key words.

Create a rule set for new rules
To create a rule set to contain the two rules you want to use for blocking unwanted text:
1 Go to Policy | Rule Sets.
2 On the rule sets tree, navigate to the position where you want to insert the rule set.
Note: A good position to insert the rule set is before the rule sets that control other filtering functions,
such as URL or virus and malware filtering.
3 Click Add above the rule sets tree. A drop-down menu opens.
4 Select Rule Set. The Add New Rule Set window opens.
5 Configure the following general settings for the rule set:
• Name — Name of the rule set, for example, Block Unwanted Text
• [Optional] Comment — Plain-text comment on the rule set
6 Select the Enable checkbox.
7 [Optional] Click the Permissions tab and configure who is allowed to view and edit the rule set.
8 In the Applies to section, select Responses and Embedded objects.
9 In the Apply this rule set section, select Always.
10 Click Save Changes.
