3 Proxies and caching Reverse HTTPS proxy configuration Create a list of next hop proxies To create a list of the web servers that are addressed as next hop proxies when a suitable rule triggers the Enable Next Hop Proxy event, proceed as follows: 1 Go to Policy | Lists. 2 Above the lists tree, click Add. The Add List window opens. 3 Specify the following settings to create a new list: • Name — , for example, Protected web servers as next hop proxies • [Optional] Comment — A plain-text comment on the new list • Type — NextHopProxy 4 Click OK. The window closes and the new list is inserted on the lists tree under Custom Lists | NextHopProxy. 5 To fill the list with entries for web servers, click Add above the settings pane (right side of the user interface). The Add Wildcard Expression window opens. Note: To add multiple entries at once, click Add Multiple. 6 Enter one or more URLs for the web servers you want to address. Separate multiple entries by commas. 7 Click OK. The window closes and your entries are added to the list. 8 Click Save Changes. Create next hop proxy settings To create a list of the web servers that are addressed as next hop proxies when a suitable rule triggers the Enable Next Hop Proxy event, proceed as follows: 1 Go to Policy | Settings. 2 On the Engines branch of the settings tree, go to Enable Next Hop Proxy and click Add. The Add Settings window opens. 3 Specify the following to create new settings: • Name — , for example, Protected web servers • [Optional] Comment — A plain-text comment on the new settings • Under Next Hop Proxy Servers configure the following: • From the List of next hop proxy servers, select the next hop proxy list you created, for example, Protected web servers as next hop proxies. • Make sure Round Robin is selected. • Deselect Proxy style requests. 4 Click OK. Proxies and caching Reverse HTTPS proxy configuration 3 Create a rule for the Enable Next Hop proxy event To create a rule that triggers the Enable Next Hop proxy event when a server from the list of protected web servers is requested, proceed as follows: 1 Go to Policy | Rule Sets. 2 On the rule sets tree, select the Next Hop Proxy rule set. The rules within this rule set appear on the settings pane. 3 Click Add Rule. The Add Rule window opens. 4 Under Name, enter a name for the new rule, for example, Address protected web servers as next hop proxies. 5 Under Rule Criteria, select If the following criteria is matched, then click Add. The Add Criteria window opens. 6 Configure the rule criteria as follows: • From the Property list, select URL.Host. • From the Operator list, select does not match in list. • From the Value list under Parameter, select the web server list you configured, for example, Protected web servers. 7 Click OK. The window closes and the new criteria appears under Rule Criteria. 8 Under Action, leave Continue (default). 9 Under Events, click Add and then Event. The Add Event window opens. 10 Configure an event as follows: • From the Event list, select Enable Next Hop Proxy. • From the Settings list, select the settings you configured, for example, Protected web servers. 11 Click OK. The window closes and the new event appears under Events. 12 Click Finish. The Add Rule window closes and the new rule is added to the rules of the Next Hop Proxy rule set. 13 Click Save Changes.
