Figure 31 shows the annual tenure revenue generated by sector over the 2003 to 2009 period. The energy<br />

<strong>and</strong> mining sector has contributed the largest share <strong>of</strong> tenure revenue, averaging 38% <strong>of</strong> revenue over the sixyear<br />

period. 64 The agriculture <strong>and</strong> related activities sector, <strong>and</strong> the manufacturing <strong>and</strong> commercial sector also<br />

contributed a significant share <strong>of</strong> total tenure revenue, averaging 11% each. The tourism <strong>and</strong> accommodation<br />

sector <strong>and</strong> the utilities <strong>and</strong> pipelines sector also made substantial contributions to total tenure revenue, averaging<br />

9% each. The energy <strong>and</strong> mining sector has increased its share <strong>of</strong> tenure revenue from 32% in 2003/2004 to<br />

44% in 2009.<br />

Figure 32 shows the annual percentage share <strong>of</strong> revenue generated by <strong>Crown</strong> l<strong>and</strong> sales to different sectors<br />

over the 2003/2004 to 2008/2009 period. The residential sector yielded the largest share <strong>of</strong> l<strong>and</strong> sale revenue,<br />

averaging 51% over the 2003/2004 to 2008/2009 period, followed by the agriculture <strong>and</strong> related activities<br />

sector, which averaged 22%. Agricultural <strong>and</strong> related activities’ share <strong>of</strong> revenue declined from a peak <strong>of</strong> 34% in<br />

2004/2005 to only 9% in 2008/2009.<br />
