The Chairman of the Executive<br />

Committee has requested the<br />

Board of Directors to reduce, for<br />

2008, his variable remuneration to<br />

EUR 216 093, by way of exception<br />

to the policy set by the Board,<br />

which would have permitted him<br />

to receive an amount of<br />

EUR 616 093.<br />

In December 2008 the Board of<br />

Directors allotted, on the proposal of<br />

the Compensation and Appointments<br />

Committee, share options to senior<br />

Group managers. The exercise price<br />

amounts to EUR 58.81 per option,<br />

with a three-year non-exercise period.<br />

The Chairman of the Executive<br />

Committee accepted 25 000 such<br />

options and the Chief <strong>Financial</strong> Offi cer<br />
