• Attributes (or Parameters) are information about the class or its<br />

interface and are added to fully define an AEC object. Length, width,<br />

height, and location are some typical attributes of AEC objects.<br />

• Relationships occur between classes. For example, an elevator car<br />

has a relationship to its structural frame. A structural frame contains<br />

a car and reciprocally a car is contained by a structural frame<br />

(Figure 5.4).<br />

• Interfaces are used to provide access to the object. IFC interfaces<br />

are designed to support the AEC processes, and enable software<br />

vendors to implement IFC based objects. For example, an elevator<br />
