MODEL NAVIGATOR<br />

1 In the Model Navigator open the <strong>RF</strong> Module folder, then select<br />

In-Plane Waves>TE Waves>Scattered harmonic propagation.<br />

2 Click OK.<br />

GEOMETRY MODELING<br />

1 Draw four rectangles by Shift-clicking the Rectangle/Square button on the Draw<br />

toolbar. The rectangles have the following dimensions.<br />

PROPERTY R1 R2 R3 R4<br />

Width 2.4 2.4 0.2 0.2<br />

Height 0.2 0.2 2.4 2.4<br />

Position corner x -1.2 -1.2 -1.2 1<br />

Position corner y 1 -1.2 -1.2 -1.2<br />

2 Draw two ellipses centered at the origin with the following semi-axis lengths by<br />

Shift-clicking the Ellipse/Circle button on the Draw toolbar.<br />

PROPERTY E1 E2<br />

A-semiaxis 0.1 0.3<br />

B-semiaxis 0.3 0.1<br />

3 Select both ellipses and click the Union button and then the Delete Interior Boundaries<br />

button on the Draw toolbar.
