1 From the Mesh menu, open the Free Mesh Parameters dialog box.<br />

2 Click the Boundary tab.<br />

3 Select all boundaries.<br />

4 In the Maximum element size edit field, type 5e5.<br />

5 From the Method list, select Triangle (advancing front).<br />

6 Click the Remesh button. When the mesher has finished, click OK.<br />

COMPUTING THE SOLUTION<br />

1 Open the Solver Parameters dialog box.<br />

2 In the Desired number of eigenvalues edit field, type 20.<br />

3 Click OK.<br />

4 Click the Solve button on the Main toolbar to solve the model.<br />

POSTPROCESSING AND VISUALIZATION<br />

1 To create the plot in Figure 2-8, begin by opening the Plot Parameters dialog box<br />

from the Postprocessing menu.<br />

2 On the General page, clear the Slice check box and select the Subdomain check box.<br />

3 Click the Subdomain tab.<br />

4 From the Predefined quantities list, select Electric field, norm, then click Apply.<br />

5 To reproduce the plot in Figure 2-9, click the General tab, select 24.426 from the<br />

Eigenvalue list, and click OK.
