Modeling Using the Graphical User Interface<br />

MODEL NAVIGATOR<br />

1 Start COMSOL Multiphysics.<br />

2 In the Model Navigator, select 2D from the Space dimension list.<br />

3 Click the Multiphysics button.<br />

4 In the Model Navigator open the COMSOL Multiphysics folder, then select Deformed<br />

Mesh>Parameterized Geometry.<br />

5 Click the Add button.<br />

6 In the Model Navigator open the <strong>RF</strong> Module folder, then select In-Plane Waves>TE<br />

Waves>Harmonic propagation.<br />

7 Click the Add button.<br />

8 In the Model Navigator open the COMSOL Multiphysics folder, then select Optimization<br />

and Sensitivity>Optimization.<br />

9 Click the Add button.<br />

10 Click OK.<br />

GEOMETRY MODELING<br />

1 Go to the Draw menu and select Specify Objects > Line.<br />

2 Under Style, select Closed polyline (solid).<br />

3 In the X and Y edit fields, enter the following coordinate values:<br />

PROPERTY EXPRESSION<br />

X -0.1392 -0.0348 -0.0348 0 0 -0.032 -0.1392<br />

Y 0.0348 0.0348 0.1392 0.1392 0.032 0 0<br />

4 Click OK.<br />
