Chapter 5: Importing Deployment Artifacts into a Domain ◆ To define deployment import properties: 1. Start the Deployment Import Tool. 2. Select an exported Sonic archive file (*.xar) and click Open. The file displays on the Archive Elements tab, as in this example using the mapped RIA sample XAR: (You could select the root of a file store if you chose to export as files in the Export Tool or used the ESB Admin Tool command export fs.) The elements in the store display with a green square in the lower corner of their icon. Using The Deployment Archive Import Tool 3. To construct rules that override the default behavior for folder structures or individual elements, do the following: a. To specify the import should overwrite when it encounters a match, select the item, then choose Overwrite Existing on the menu. After the option is selected, the selected item has a filled red circle, as illustrated: b. To specify that the import should overwrite all the files in a branch when they encounter a file match, select the branch, then choose Overwrite Existing on the menu.
