Chapter 2: Exporting <strong>ESB</strong> Artifacts for <strong>Deployment</strong><br />

Using the <strong>Deployment</strong> Export Tool<br />

The <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>deploy</strong>ment export tools include a graphical application and a command syntax<br />

in the <strong>ESB</strong> Admin Tool. This section describes the functionality of the graphical application,<br />

the <strong>Deployment</strong> Export Tool. The next section describes “Exporting <strong>ESB</strong> Artifacts With the<br />

<strong>ESB</strong> Admin Tool.”<br />

Note The corresponding <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>Deployment</strong> Import Tool and the <strong>ESB</strong> Admin Tool commands<br />

import and merge are discussed in “Importing <strong>Deployment</strong> Artifacts into a Domain” on<br />

page 105.<br />

◆ To start the <strong>Deployment</strong> Export Tool:<br />

Note A system must have <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>ESB</strong> Administration Tools installed (a <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>ESB</strong><br />

Administration Tools installation or a <strong>Sonic</strong> Workbench installation) to run this tool.<br />

1. Check that the source domain manager is running.<br />

2. On the system where you will execute the export process, start the <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>Deployment</strong><br />

Export Tool:<br />

■ Under Windows, choose:<br />

Start > Programs > <strong>Progress</strong> > <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>8.5</strong> > Tools > <strong>ESB</strong> <strong>Deployment</strong> Export Tool<br />

■ Under UNIX or Linux, on a system installed with the <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>ESB</strong> Administration<br />

Tools, open a console window to the <strong>Sonic</strong> <strong>ESB</strong> installation directory, and then<br />

enter: ./bin/<strong>deploy</strong>Export.sh<br />

The <strong>Deployment</strong> Archive Export window opens:<br />
