Chapter 3: Mapping ESB Artifacts to Target Domains
d. Edit Map Parameters for Target Domain — Edit the map file to adjust
development references and paths to preferred names in the deployment domain.
Adjust any parameter values that should be changed in the deployment domain.
“Editing the Map File for a Target Domain” on page 78 for more information
e. Apply Map — Apply the edited map file to the exported archive to create a
mapped archive. See “Adjusting and Applying a Map File to an Archive” on
page 78 for more information.
f. Analysis of Directory Services, Archives and File Stores — Produce analysis
reports to review the dependencies and impact of the changes in the target
domain. See “Analyzing ESB Artifacts in Archives, Stores, and File Systems” on
page 95 for more information.
g. Map Log File — Review the map log file to confirm that the mappings and
parameter changes are correct. See “Reviewing the Mapping Log” on page 80 for
more information.
h. Import Tailored Archive — Define import properties to filter the deployment
archive with overwrite capabilities on selected files, and ignore specified files,
and then import the archive into the target domain manager. See Chapter 5,
“Importing Deployment Artifacts into a Domain” for more information.
i. Import Log File — Review the import log to certify that the changes took place
as expected.
You can produce analysis reports after the import completes to verify the changes.
Tailoring Rules
Tailoring rules define standards for transforming names and paths in the source domain
(typically development), and for specifying the types of services, endpoints, and
connections that will be exposed for mapping. For each of those types, the parameters that
can be tuned at the mapping level are listed. Start by getting familiar with the structure
and content of the default tailoring rules file at sonic_install_dir/ESB8.5/deploy.
You will learn how you an use tailoring rules to create map files that you edit and then
apply to an archive. You will also learn how to customize the tailoring rules so that map
files always define your preferred rules, and extract parameters you want to tailor.
