Chapter 3: Mapping ESB Artifacts to Target Domains d. Edit Map Parameters for Target Domain — Edit the map file to adjust development references and paths to preferred names in the deployment domain. You can produce analysis reports after the import completes to verify the changes. Tailoring Rules Tailoring rules define standards for transforming names and paths in the source domain (typically development), and for specifying the types of services, endpoints, and connections that will be exposed for mapping. For each of those types, the parameters that can be tuned at the mapping level are listed. Start by getting familiar with the structure and content of the default tailoring rules file at sonic_install_dir/ESB8.5/deploy. You will learn how you an use tailoring rules to create map files that you edit and then apply to an archive. You will also learn how to customize the tailoring rules so that map files always define your preferred rules, and extract parameters you want to tailor. 62 Progress Sonic ESB Deployment Guide 8.5
Default Tailorings Tailoring Rules The following section reviews each section and subsection of DefaulTailorRules.xml. ● DevEnvRules — The reference names used in the Workbench are typically updated for deployment environments. ■ stringReplaceMaps — These maps adjust path names of artifacts as well as references to these same strings that are embedded in other artifacts. The default pattern is to remove the workspace folder level. ■ DevServiceMaps — These DevEnvRules provide mapping of references in service configurations in the development environment to service configurations for service types that will be defined in deployment environments. Generic service configurations are defined in the development domain with the prefix dev. This mapping assumes that you will set up similar service configurations names that use the prefix global. The default DevServiceMap tailorings are as shown: ■ DevEndpointMaps — These DevEnvRules provide mapping of references of endpoint configurations in the development environment to endpoint configurations for service types that will be defined in deployment environments.
