Chapter 5: Importing <strong>Deployment</strong> Artifacts into a Domain<br />

Importing Configurations using the <strong>ESB</strong> Admin Tool<br />

You can use the <strong>ESB</strong> Admin Tool to import connections and endpoints into a domain’s<br />

Directory Service store.<br />

◆ To import connection types into a domain:<br />

1. Start the <strong>ESB</strong> Admin Tool.<br />

2. Connect to the target domain’s management broker.<br />

3. Enter:<br />

import connectionType path_to_the_file [override]<br />

where:<br />

■ path_to_the_file is the pathname to the connection type XML configuration file<br />

■ the optional override parameter enables overwrite of a matching configuration.<br />

4. Confirm the new connection type configurations in the Directory Service by listing<br />

the stored connection types. Enter:<br />

list connectionType<br />

◆ To import endpoint types into a domain:<br />

1. Start the <strong>ESB</strong> Admin Tool.<br />

2. Connect to the target domain’s management broker.<br />

3. Enter:<br />

import endpointType path_to_the_file [override]<br />

where:<br />

■ path_to_the_file is the pathname to the endpoint type XML configuration file<br />

■ the optional override parameter enables overwrite of a matching configuration.<br />

4. Confirm the new endpoint type configurations in the Directory Service by listing the<br />

stored endpoint types. Enter:<br />

list endpointType<br />

Closing the Domain Connection and Stopping the <strong>ESB</strong> Admin Tool<br />

After you complete your import tasks with the <strong>ESB</strong> Admin Tool, close the administrative<br />

connection to the target domain. Enter:<br />

<strong>ESB</strong>Admin> disconnect<br />

To stop the <strong>ESB</strong> Admin Tool, enter:<br />

<strong>ESB</strong>Admin> exit (or bye)<br />
