Chapter 5: Importing Deployment Artifacts into a Domain
Importing Configurations using the ESB Admin Tool
You can use the ESB Admin Tool to import connections and endpoints into a domain’s
Directory Service store.
◆ To import connection types into a domain:
1. Start the ESB Admin Tool.
2. Connect to the target domain’s management broker.
3. Enter:
import connectionType path_to_the_file [override]
where:
■ path_to_the_file is the pathname to the connection type XML configuration file
■ the optional override parameter enables overwrite of a matching configuration.
4. Confirm the new connection type configurations in the Directory Service by listing
the stored connection types. Enter:
list connectionType
◆ To import endpoint types into a domain:
1. Start the ESB Admin Tool.
2. Connect to the target domain’s management broker.
3. Enter:
import endpointType path_to_the_file [override]
where:
■ path_to_the_file is the pathname to the endpoint type XML configuration file
■ the optional override parameter enables overwrite of a matching configuration.
4. Confirm the new endpoint type configurations in the Directory Service by listing the
stored endpoint types. Enter:
list endpointType
Closing the Domain Connection and Stopping the ESB Admin Tool
After you complete your import tasks with the ESB Admin Tool, close the administrative
connection to the target domain. Enter:
ESBAdmin> disconnect
To stop the ESB Admin Tool, enter:
ESBAdmin> exit (or bye)
