Chapter 4: Analyzing ESB Artifacts in Archives, Stores, and File Systems Reporting SonicMQ Dependencies The mqdepends command assesses a source artifact store to evaluate and report on the dependencies of ESB artifacts on SonicMQ configuration objects. This information can then be used to create or verify the existence of the specified dependencies in a target Directory Service store. The stores can be a Sonic archive file, file system, or a Directory Service store. Sonic ESB dependencies on SonicMQ artifacts include: ■ Endpoints for their destination dependencies (topics, queues, or routing). ■ ESB connections for SonicMQ connection parameters (and, therefore, the broker location and port where static destinations must be created.) The report indicates an ESB artifact, and whether the SonicMQ configuration elements that are its dependencies exist in the target domain. The command provides parameters so you can constrain the analysis to specified files or a text document that provides a list of files. The syntax of the mqdepends command in the Sonic ESB Admin Tool is: mqdepends -storeType storeParameters [-out outputFile.xml] [-include artifact1 [artifact2 ...] | -includeFile artifactListFile] where: ■ storeType is { xar | fs | ds }. ■ storeParameters are: ❑ When storeType is xar, the archive location of a .xar file on a file system ❑ When storeType is fs, the root of the hierarchy on a file system ❑ When storeType is ds, the management connection to a domain in the form: domain url [username password] [managementNode] ■ outputfile is the preferred target XML file name and location for the analysis report on the file system. When you do not specify this parameter, the output file is created as Sonic_Dependency.xml in the tool’s directory. ■ artifact1 artifact2 ... is a series of specific files in the store to analyze. ■ artifactListFile is a text file that provides a list of files in the store to analyze. 98 Progress Sonic ESB Deployment Guide 8.5
