2. HEMPADUR VARNISH 05150
SURFACE The surfaces to be treated must be clean and dry and free from grease and oil. Remove loose
PREPARATION: material.
New wood: If necessary the surface should be sanded. Carefully remove the dust.
Previously varnished wood: If the type of old varnish is unknown, but hard and intact it might be
possible to apply HEMPADUR VARNISH 05150 on top. It is recommended first to apply HEMPADUR
VARNISH 05150 on a small area. If required, cleaning is done with a suitable detergent followed by
a very careful removal of all remnants of detergent, dirt etc. Usually the surface will furthermore
need sanding, followed by a careful removal of dust.
APPLICATION Surface saturation: It is recommended to saturate absorbent surfaces with a layer of
CONDITIONS: HEMPADUR VARNISH 05150 diluted 20-30% with THINNER 08570. May be topcoated after min.
approx. 6 hours (20°C/68°F).
Application method: When treating floors, the mixture may be poured out on the surface and then
levelled with a roller made of hard rubber or with a broad rubber scraper.
Conditions: Use only where application and curing can proceed at temperatures above 10°C/50°F.
Moisture content of the wood should be below 16%.
SUBSEQUENT Usually none.
COAT:
REMARKS:
Recoating: If two coats have to be applied then apply the second coat within 3 days at 20°C/68°F.
Avoid contamination between layers.
Notes: Exposure to sunshine will cause yellowing.
