The blow stricken by Chile in
the opening game was a knockout
for Argentina. They never
recovered from it, immediately
falling with Paraguay and
somewhat recovering their game
at the final, though the tie with
Bolivia, in a match that seemed
to be already won, left them
outside. This has been happening
among the senior national teams.
Bolivia has become Argentina’s
black shadow.
As regards Brazil, they were
very far from the solid and
winning national teams the
public is used to watch.
The early elimination of both
was undoubtedly the anecdote
the tournament will leave for the
future. It is also quite true that
these are groups. In Arequipa
2011 Brazil presented a team full
of shining names (Neymar, Lucas,
Oscar, Casemiro). It was less
virtuous and perhaps in two
years’ time, there will be a totally
new fantastic generation.

Barrios and sent him back to

Ecuadorian. The complaint is in
the hands of Peru’s Ordinary
Justice.
